International event ? Bargento 4 goes English compliant ?

Hello Magento friends,

I had some request to organise Bargento (the French community Event) in English.
Many english speaking people start to ask for this event to become international and accept european attendees & companies.

This is complicated to handle but not impossible. We already had some ideas regarding this but the thing is, we need to know how many british, italian, spanish, german, etc… people would like to come to Paris the 22rd march 2010. Depending on the figures, we can start this one to be international, I think 100 foreign attendees would be enough.

To organise things properly, I need to know his as soon as possible since this will modify many things. Foreign companies would probably like to advertise, have a booth or a talk, final customers will be interested in knowing who will come etc… So the sooner, the better.

If you feel like coming to Paris for Bargento 4 if it is “english compliant”, please send an email to this address : bargento_english@bargento.fr with the following details :

* First & last name
* company
* Interest in Bargento (code, perfs, web marketing, find customers, partner finding, lobbying, make contacts, Paris etc…)

If this email hit 100+ demands within 15 days, I swear Bargento will be “english” compliant. I need to know if this shift is really something I can handle, if less than 100 foreign country people comes in, it’s gonna be a big cost for too few return on investment.

Actually, the event was only held in French so almost all sites, blogs, litteracy, videos, feedbacks are in French, but here are some links to have an idea of what Bargento is :

Some figures also :

- Bargento and 100 to 150 percent growth each time (held three times a year)
- Bargento 4 should get 450 attendees, more if it goes international (600 ?) all interested in Magento in a way or another
- 50% (at least) of the visitors are final customers, 7% for hire pro, 30% solutions providers, 5% freelancers/experts, the other are non qualified (didn’t filled the form)

It’s also possible for foreign company to advertise on Bargento if they want to. It’s also possible to have a conference room for foreign people, full english spoken, this way people from Madrid, Kiev or London could also make some papers !

I need all of the community to support us on this one and relay the word in the local country you come from…

The place for Bargento 4 is there

The event is only one day long (you can stay for tourism purpose or business if you have some parntership to create or customer to meet)

Depending on where you come from, the costs may heavily change. England, you can take eurostar which is fast and you’re very close to the place when arriving by train. Something link 250 € for the train, add 150 € for the night if you take the hotel option, 20 € for the ticket, makes a ~450 € for english people. German & netherland people should take the plane, count ~650 to 700 € all inclusive, same for spanish & italians.

US people willing to come, well ask Varien, they know the budget ;) My guess is you’ve got to count around ~1000 € (~1400$) per person.

Max capacity for the place is : 20 booths, 3 conference room (on great hall 350 seated places, 2 small 50), 800 persons maximum.
